Apple Pay has started rolling out to Axis Bank customers in India, 12 years after its initial announcement. The feature is now available on Apple's servers, marking the beginning of its official rollout in the country. Apple Pay is now available in 101 countries and regions, with India being the latest addition.
Bank of America analyst Wamsi Mohan issued a note warning that AI agents like Meta's Muse could bypass Apple's ecosystem and threaten its services revenue. Muse, a new AI agent from Meta, has gained 3.4 million downloads and is currently the top free app on the US App Store. Apple's shares dropped 2.5% in response to the note.
Apple Pay is now available in India with support for Axis Bank credit cards on Visa or Mastercard networks, allowing users to make contactless and online payments. To use Apple Pay in India, users need an Axis Bank credit card. Merchants and payment terminals must also add Apple Pay support for it to work.
