OpenAI wants to consult elite mathematicians about how to not fumble again

OpenAI has formed an independent panel of nine mathematicians to advise on the review and communication of its emerging results, particularly in the field of mathematics. The group, called the Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence (AGMAI), will operate independently and have the freedom to offer advice and publicly comment on OpenAI's impact on mathematics. The group's members will not be paid by OpenAI and can change its membership as it sees fit.
