Meta is developing a standalone device called Muse Charm, a hardware companion to its AI agent Muse, which does not require a phone to function. The device has a screen, fingerprint sensor, and camera, and is expected to ship in December. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg briefly showcased the device during the Meta Connect presentation.
Apple has added a feature to Messages in iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 that allows users to change the background of conversations. The backgrounds can be selected from various categories and can be applied to group chats. The change is available on devices running OS 26 or later, and the backgrounds will propagate across logged-in devices.
OpenAI's ChatGPT extension for Siri underperformed, with users more likely to open the ChatGPT app than interact with it via Siri. The integration was classified as 'persistently underperforming' by March 2026. Apple's implementation of ChatGPT in iOS and Siri was flawed from the start, with no data collected or trained on.

The company also expanded its Meta Glasses lineup with new styles and a new device called the Muse Charm. The Muse Charm is a palm-sized gadget designed for Meta's Muse AI assistant. The Meta VR Glasses will be available in spring 2027 for $1,299.99, while the Ray-Ban Meta Audio will be available on October 13 for $349.
OpenAI's court filing claims that ChatGPT's integration with Siri was 'persistently underperforming' and failed to draw many new users. The integration was added to Siri in December 2024, but users had to opt-in through a multistep process. OpenAI cut its forecast for the number of users from the partnership due to the slow start.
